Artist, journalist. Born: Smithfield, Rhode Island. Daughter of Edward and Mary (Kelly) Cooke. Educated: Providence private schools (diplomas Miss Abbott’s School and Rhode Island School of Design).
Studied painting under Sydney Richmond Burleigh and George W. Whittaker.
Member of Ladies’ Advisory Board, Providence Art Club, 1894-97 and 1901-06; secretary of Providence Art Club, 1900-1909; Vice-President, Rhode Island School of Design Alumni Association, 1908-1911. Society editor of Providence Journal (daily and Sunday) since 1906. Member of Providence Art Club, Providence Water Color Club, and Rhode Island Short Story Club.
