Celine Olive (Descollayes) Robellaz (Swiss, 1922-1984)
Known for figurative works, still-life and fresco paintings as well as for her book illustration.
Céline Robellaz was born in Nyon (Switzerland) on April 7, 1903. She studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Lausanne and met the legendary Swiss artist Alice Bailly (1872-1938) who became her mentor and friend.
In 1931 Robellaz went on to study in Italy - where she lived until 1945.
She created frescoes for the Olympic stadium in Lausanne and the Fonds des Arts Plastiques (The Plastic Arts Fund Commission) of the city of Lausanne owns several of her paintings.
