Ed M. Blackburn is active/lives in Texas.  Ed Blackburn is known for modernist cinema recreations, photo-realist and pop art painting, printmaking.

Biography   Ed M. Blackburn

Born in Amarillo, Texas, in 1940, contemporary artist Ed Blackburn is primarily considered a painter, but he has worked as a printmaker, writer, poet, musician and filmmaker. His work can be linked to art historical movements such as Photorealism and Pop Art, but overall he defies categorization. Throughout his career, he has frequently used images from the media, popular culture, politics, and even the Bible as his inspiration, often combining them with language to create new perspectives on existing archetypes. Blackburn is recognized for several signature styles; some were a focus for roughly a decade before he moved on but others, such as his Bible Paintings, re-appear numerous times and continue today.
