Elmo Alfred Brule was born in Stanislaus County, California on Feb. 29, 1884. Brulé settled in Sacramento in 1911. In 1940 he was a pupil at Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles. For 43 years he was an administrative assistant in the Corps of Engineers. He died in Sacramento on July 20, 1966. His works include still lifes, landscapes and coastal scenes.
