Biography Floy Campbell
Floy Campbell was born on August 31, 1873 in Kansas City, Missouri. She received her early education in Kansas City and wanted to pursue a career in Art and Teaching. Her family was well off enough to allow her formal training at the Art Students League* in New York and the Colarossi Academy* in Paris, France. While in Paris, Campbell studied with Louis Garrido, Charles Cottet, and Lucien Simon.
After returning to Kansas City, Campbell became an Instructor of Art at the Manual Training High School, Kansas City Mo. in 1896. She remained a teacher there until June 1913 when she was offered a position as Supervisor of Art and Professor of Drawing at the University of Puerto Rico. Campbell he
