Biography   Francisco Icaza


As the son of a renowned Mexican diplomat, Francisco Icaza had an itinerant educational growth and development, between Europe, the Middle East and America, a fact that determined his decision to devote himself fully to art. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgium, was a student of Rufino Tamayo during his stay in New York and a disciple of Antonio Rodríguez Luna. Already trained, Icaza stood out as an active member of the Salon de la Plastica Mexicana, the Independent Hall and Confrontation 66. In addition to his easel paintings and the execution of monumental sculpture, he made some murals, one of them for the former Casino de la Jungle in Cuernavaca, Morelos, which was restored in 2000 after having been moved from the casino an   ...  Displaying 750 of 1754 characters.
