Biography   Frederic Louis Fox


Born in NYC on Aug. 26, 1902. A resident of the Bronx until age nine, Fox then moved to Pasadena with his family. He studied at the Pasadena Art Institute and was a boyhood friend of artist Henry Formhals with whom he collaborated throughout his lifetime. His cartoons "Freckles and his Friends" (originated by Merrill Blosser) and "Ella Cinders" (originated by Charlie Plumb) was syndicated in 750 newspapers. He also wrote radio comedy for Groucho Marx, Judy Canova, as well as scripts for "Bonanza" and "Have Gun Will Travel." Fox died in Pasadena on Aug. 26, 1982. Exh: Cartoonist Club (LA), 1928.
