Biography George P. Bartle, Jr.
With a studio in the Corcoran Gallery Building in Washington DC from 1875 to 1880, George Bartle was known for his illustrations for Century Magazine. He was also a wood engraver and landscape painter, and lived in New York City and Phalanx, New Jersey.
He was a student of Hobart Nichols, and exhibited with the Brooklyn Art Association in 1875 and the National Academy of Design in 1880.
