Giulio Rosati paintings show a love for the colors and exoticism of the Orient. He was a genre painters well as a figure painter. Rosati depicted exotic woman lounging about on silk cushions waiting for their sultan to summon them to the love chamber. Despite the authenticity which Rosati painted his harem girls, Persian rugs and Moorish architecture, the painter rarely left his drab studio.
