Biography Gustaf Rydberg
Between 1852-57 Rydberg studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen where he lived with the Danish landscape painter F. C. Kiærskoe. From him Rydberg learned the detailed account and composition with backdrop trees in the foreground. Between 1857-59 Rydberg studied at the Art Academy in Stockholm and between 1859-64 in Düsseldorf.
Rydberg's definitive breakthrough took place in connection with the 1866 general industrial exhibition in Stockholm, today known as the Nordic exhibition when only exhibitors from the Nordic countries participated.
