An art teacher, administrator and artist, she had a thirty-year career, which began in Nebraska and ended in Oregon. Although much more information has surfaced about her teaching than her creativity as an artist, it is known she attended the “California School of Arts and Crafts in Oakland” and that she “won a number of prizes and a scholarship.” (Dawdy 149) Indicative that weaving was something she pursued is the fact that in 1946, she and 15 other Oregon women founded the Eugene Weaver’s Guild, which promoted weaving by hand and looms.
