Born August 17, 1884 Brooklyn, New York
August 1, 1905 he married Anna MacLear and had one daughter, Ann.
Herman belonged to the Bronx Artist's Guild and served on the Executive Committee in the 1920s. In 1922 he did several paintings, which were sold by the Guild entitled "Backyard in Summer", "Marshes", "Gathering Clouds" and "Along The Harlem" He also had paintings at the New York Metropolitan Art Museum.
