According to her catalogue entry in" Role and Impact: The Chicago Society of Artists" by Louise Dunn Yochim, Hilda Campbell was born in New Jersey in 1915. Her art education includes Greenbrier College, Lewisburg, W. Virginia and the New York School of Interior Design. She also studied at the Pinto Institute deAllende, Mexico, the Chicago Art Institute, Academie N.D. des Champs, Paris as well as individually with Kip Nielsen, New Jersey, Elvie tenHoor, Chicago, and Stanley Mittrick of the Commonwealth Art Center.
She has traveled to Europe, Mexico and the Orient.
