I WAS BORN in Danbury, Connecticut in 1971. My father was an electrician, and my mother a beautician, and I was the first grandson to my grandparents who had seven children of their own. In the summer of 1975 we moved to El Paso, Texas. I spent my youth in the Southwestern deserts chasing lizards and snakes and occasionally brought them home as pets.
