Biography Karl Krug
From 1921, Karl Krug studied at the School of Visual Arts
in Leipzig under the guidance of Alois Kolb and Hans Soltmann. He then
went on study trips to Italy and Schleswig-Holstein. In 1930 he was
awarded the Ernst-Keil grant from the Academy in Leipzig.
1942 his studio was destroyed with his entire oeuvre. From 1950 to
1965, he worked as a teacher at the HGB Leipzig and directed the studio
for engraving and etching. In 1975 he was winner of the Art Prize of
the City of Leipzig.
Works by Krug are in the collections of the
