Lewis Browne was born in London, England on June 24, 1897. By the late 1920s Browne had moved to California. He lectured on Jewish culture and religion in San Francisco before settling in Santa Monica in the 1930s. He was the illustrator-author of several books including Stranger Than Fiction and All Things Are Possible. His death in Santa Monica on Jan. 3, 1949 was a suicide.
