Biography   Louisa Echstein Addelsterren

A teacher at Dunham's Academy in Lexington, Kentucky in 1825, Louisa Addelsterren painted portraits of George Washington and the Marquis de Lafayette for the Academy in honor of Lafayette's 1825 visit to America. From 1826 to 1830, she taught in Cincinnati and then returned to teaching in Kentucky.,
