Biography   Lucile Lloyd

Born in Cincinnati, OH on Aug. 20, 1894. Lloyd first studied under her father, Harry K. Lloyd and continued in NYC at the Cooper Union and ASL. By 1921 she had settled in southern California. While living in Glendale, she acted as director of the Stickney School of Art in 1921-22. Using highly traditional motifs, she often incorporated humor and sentiment into her murals. A suicide, Lloyd died of gas poisoning in Los Angeles on Feb. 25, 1941. Married twice, she was the wife of Addison Brown and Niel McNulty. Member: Calif. Art Club; Women Painters of West.
