Biography Madeleine Arbour
One of our true creative spirits, Madeleine Arbour, has found herself
at the forefront not only of many works, but also of eras.
Through her activities in fields as varied as stage design, television
hosting, teaching and interior design, she has helped awaken
generations of Quebeckers to the importance of creativity.
As early as 1948, Madeleine Arbour took an active part in changing the
history of Quebec by co-signing the Refus global. Shortly
thereafter, she participated in television's fledgling steps where,
among other things she was a reporter, set designer and props
person. In the 1960s, she became a teacher; at the Collège du
Vieux-Montréal, she set up the Presentation Esthetics program. In
