“Marian V. Loud was accepted as a member of the Society (Detroit Society of Women Painters and Sculptors) April 9, 1923, elected president in April, 1929, and served until the spring of 1931. She was for some years a student at the John P. Wicker Art School, Detroit.
In the summer of 1914 she enrolled in the Department of Fine Arts, Harvard University, and the following year went to Gloucester, Mass., to study with Eben Comins. In 1930 she was studying with Moritz Heymann in Munich, Germany. Elliot O’Hara became her instructor in 1936 at Goose Rocks Beach, Maine. She, at different times, maintained studios in Brittany; North Africa; Taos, New Mexico; and on Mackinac Island,
