Biography Mary Ford
Mary Ford was born in London in 1944. She is a British artist. From the age of six Mary lived in Cornwall on the family ketch before moving to London in her teens. In London she studied Fine Art at the Byam Shaw School of Art 1970-73 followed by The Royal Academy Schools from 1973-76 where William Scott was her tutor. She acknowledges his influence and greatly admires his work.
Other influences include painters from the earliest Florentine artists to Van Gogh, Matisse, Rothko and Roger Hilton.
