Biography Norman Hepple
Norman Hepple was born in 1908.
The artist studied at Goldsmiths College of Art and then at the Royal Academy Schools under Sir Walter Russell, where he achieved a scholarship in engraving.
He illustrated many books and went on to become a leading portrait painter.
He produced several of the Royal Family, including three of Queen Elizabeth II, others of Prince Philip the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Charles and the Queen Mother who sat for him for four separate commissions.
He served as President of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters from 1979 to 1983.
Norman Hepple passed away in 1994.
