“Funeral Rite for Sculptor. … Stephen Miletin, San Francisco sculptor and bon vivant, who fell dead on New Year’s Eve as he played a lively Hungarian dance melody on a violin, will be cremated Tuesday afternoon at Cypress Lawn… Miletin was in the midst of a New Year’s party at 1743 Hayes street, the home of Joseph Snyder, a friend, when his heart failed him. His hand fell from the violin bow and he dropped to the floor at the feet of his friends.
Miletin has been an outstanding artist in San Francisco and many of the city’s finest residences are adorned by statuary and fountains done by him. His last commission was the statuary
