Biography Walter Brownson
Born in St. Louis, Missouri. Early education in kansas City, Missouri Public schools. Entered Art Institute of Chicago in 1910. Studied under Elmer Forsberg, Harry M. Walcott, Ralph E. Clarkson, Edward Vysekal and Karl A. Buehr. Won numerous Honorable Mentions. In 1915 he
was awarded the John Quincy Adams Foreign Travel Scholarship.
The artist worked for the Kansas City and Denver Newspaper art departments. He was generally considered a commercial artist.
