Walter Joseph Clark was born in Bristol, England on March 15, 1897. Clark emigrated from Bristol to San Francisco via Seattle in 1921. He worked as a freelance artist through the 1960s. Working primarily with watercolor and gouache, he produced posters, fruit-box labels, and magazine illustrations. Upon retirement, he moved to Sonoma, CA and remained until his demise on March 21, 1981.
