Wilder Mayo Bentley was born in Oklahoma City, OK in 1928. Known as Wilder Bentley, the younger, he grew up in Berkeley, CA and learned typesetting from his father as a teenager.
In 1959 he set up the Bread & Wine press in San Francisco where he published pamphlets of poetry by various authors.
To date, he has created many folios of his art in a variety of media, including engravings in wood and copper, watercolors, and digital works. He currently lives in Sonoma County, California.
Works held: Rosicrucian Library (San Jose); UCLA; New York Public Library; Bancroft Library (UC Berkeley).
