Biography  
Andrew Turner


From Pennsylvania, Andrew Turner was a painter of jazz themes, sometimes based on "nostalgic recollections of my days as a young tough" in the African-American culture of the ghetto. Of his painting, he says:

"At the very least, hopefully, these vignettes of experience will help to provide insight into some African American lifestyles and serve as an inspiration to my students and others to continue the legacy of African American participation in the arts." (rogallery)

He has also been a teacher who studied at the Tyler School of Art at Temple University.  In Chester, Pennsylvania, he taught grades K through 12 in the public schools and also taught in correctional centers.
