Florence Nesbit

Florence Harrison Nesbit was active/lived in Washington, California.  Florence Nesbit is known for landscape painter, printmaker, teacher, watercolor painting.

Florence Nesbit

One of the founders of the Northwest Watercolor Society, Florence Nesbit was a landscape painter as well as fashion illustrator and educator.  She attended the University of Washington, Cornish School, California School of Arts and Crafts, and Scripps College.  Among her teachers were Millard Sheets, Phil Dyke and Phil Paradise.

At the 1933 opening exhibition of the Seattle Art Museum, Nesbit won first prize in watercolor.  As a fashion illustrator, she worked in Seattle for the department stores of Frederick & Nelson and Rhodes.  From 1937 to 1942, she taught fashion design in Seattle at the Charette School of Costume Design.  In 1942 she moved to Spokane for two years and then to Walla Wal  ...  Displaying 750 of 1789 characters.
