Francisco Rizi is undoubtedly one of the great masters of Spanish Baroque. Son of Antonio - I come to the Escorial with Federico Zúcaro - and brother of Fray Juan Andrés Vicente Carducho educated, who became one of the most outstanding disciples. Collaborating with Cano Arias, Leonardo or Polo, his early works show the logic debt naturalistic models of his teacher, to go slowly peeling them and seeking their own language, full baroque, loaded with a new movement and expression , closely following examples of direct Rubens and Tintoretto, basically.
