in 1951 to French-speaking parents, and in his artwork, he shows much
influence of the "boulevard culture" of French society and the Paris
school of art including the paintings of Toulouse Lautrec.
Maimon did military service and then studied at the Avni Institute of
Fine Art in Tel Aviv where he was exposed to the Paris school. In
1980, he began a teaching career, starting at the School of Visual Arts
in Beer-Sheba and later at the Kaye Art Academy. By the late
1980s, he was a Professor of Art at Ben-Gurion University in Beer-Sheba.
