Johann Adalbert Angermayer


Johann Adalbert Angermayer was born in Bilina in 1674.  Since 1699 he lived in Prague, where he was active until his death in 1740.  From 1707-27 he was a member of the painters’ guild of the Old City of Prague. 

Under the influence of his teacher Johann Rudolf Byss he specialized in still life painting.  His oeuvre includes floral still lifes, hunting and kitchen still lifes, nature scenes and vanitas compositions.  His works can be found among others in the museums of Augsburg, Schwerin, Prague and Vienna.
