Marietta Minnigerode Andrews


Born in Richmond, Virginia in 1869, Marietta Andrews was a painter, an author and illustrator of books, including three for E.P. Dutton and Company. In 1928, she produced the books My Studio Window; in 1929, Scraps of Paper; and in 1930, George Washington's Country.

Andrews was also involved in the creation of stained glass windows, receiving commissions from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville; George Washington University, Washington, D.C.; American Society for Psychical Research, New York City; and St. Paul's Church, Steubenville, Ohio.

Her art education included teachers William Merritt Chase in New York City; Ernest Lieberman in Munich, Germany; and Luigi Chialiva in Paris, France.  She   ...  Displaying 750 of 1359 characters.
