D. Nichols - Owl (wood mosaic)Paul Hawkins
I have a beautiful wood mosaic of an owl that has rope framing, signed D. Nichols. It's an oval shape and measures 17 1/2 inches wide by 24 inches high. Any information would be appreciated.
I have a painting of a nude woman on a couch. It is signed D. Nichols-29. It is a large painting 39x29 inch(100x75 cm). Could this be a painting of Dale Nichols in his early days? Can somebody inform me about this painting?
D NicholsMelissa Marconett
I just realized that I had a signed and numbered painting by D Nichols. It is a very large picture of a black bonnet hanging on a wall mounted hook. Also, there are four different color and different sized circular boxes stacked on top of each other. It has his signature in pencil and the numbers either 1073 or1673/1950 then it has some other word written that I can't quite figure out. I'm hoping somebody knows something about this because the only thing I know is that it's a nice painting. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I am in receipt of 2 watercolor pictures signed by D Nichols....I assume the name is Dale Nichols One is of an old fashioned woman in a long dress swinging a golf club at the ball and the other is an old fashioned man in knickers putting the club. I would be interested in any information you could give me regarding these paintings. The frames are a beautiful rich wood with lovely matting and size is probably 10x13

I am seeking more information on the artist known as Dale Nichols. I am in possession of a letter from him to my mother-in-law,Margaret Cline. The date of the letter is 2/27/59 and they were good friends, while she studied under him. She went on to become an artist in the South Carolina area, and Iassume he remained in Pass Christian, Mississippi. She is from La. originally. She had a large scetch pad with about 10 pictures he did in pastels that are very colorful and full size. He initialed some of the pastels and they were done about the time of the letter. He describes himself as a "Animystic" artist and talked about living onboard his yacht "Nefertete".
I am interested in the value of the pastels and how to protect them to possibe frame for display at home. They are bright in color and could possibe be of interest to the art world.
I can be contacted at the above e-mail.
