Jane Mahy oil painting
tammy bowers (11/09/2011)
While living in CA I visited many thrift stores. One day. 7yrs ago I fell in love with a painting and brought it into my home. I have a room which is decorated around its theme. It is in pastel/aqua blues. It shows from a balcony view a sea cliff with a building off in the distance to the mid left of the frame. Mid right off in the distance there are 4 sailboats at various distances. The scene appears to be tropical as evidenced by 2 palm trees in the right hand lower corner. It appears to be signed by Jane Mahy in the left mid corner on what appears to be a balcony. I decided to look for the artist online today 11/2011and it appears that perhaps she made a few of these pictures and that she has since passed away. I know I have seen several other pieces of her work as described in the postings and some of the pictures on his site. I am just curious as to what yr she may have painted the one I have and where the location might be.

Pencil Drawing
Mary Ryan (10/21/2007)
I purchased a Jane Mabry drawing in a thrift store years ago. It is signed and the cardboard on the back has a pencilled note "Newspaper Minilla 16x20 3-B pencil self portrait." It has 3 women beautifully drawn, none young, but I don't know which one is the artist or when it was drawn.

Jaime Hamilton (05/23/2006)
I would like to know where I can get a print of the yawning boy. My father was a childhood friend of her brother-in-law Buddy and knew her husband. She did my portrait when I was 3 in 1950. It is in pastels. She had a gallery in Old Town, Albuquerque for a number of years, but she hasn't been there for a long time. I don't know if she is still alive or not but would like to know.

navajo yawning boy and the sleeping girl companion print
karen (04/14/2006)
I just acquired the navajo yawning boy and it's companion...a sleeping navajo girl while settling the estate of my late aunt and my almost late uncle. These are framed prints that I have admired since childhood...or so I thought. I am now 50 and was sure that I have seen these in their home since early childhood but noticed the back of the yawning boy has a notation that it was acquired as a gift in 1977. Does anyone know when these were actually done? I would also like to know if Jane Mabry is still living and any other info about her work. I will cherish these prints until someone comes along to settle my estate.

We have known Jane for over twenty years and have lived with her and stayed in her home with her and have several of her original works of art, which we cherish deeply. She is a grand lady and we are proud to be her friend.
