William Thurston Black's paintingsRose Wells
I have in my possession two charcoal portraits of a husband and wife, each inscribed "Horton 1901." Each is enclosed in a heavy, ornate gilt frame measuring 34" x 29" (paintings 26" x 22"). I understand the portraits may have been painted by William Thurston Black. I purchased the portraits about 30 years' ago in Hollywood, California. The person who sold these paintings to me said the subjects were, at one time, prominent figures in the Hollywood or Los Angeles area. I would like to know if these portraits have any significant or monetary value. Thank you.
